Head of Risk and Compliance – Bath - £65 - 70K + bonus + benefits An exciting opportunity for an experienced Financial Services Risk and Compliance professional. The successful candidate will ensure that all business goals are met in a controlled way, within a sound risk management framework. Further develop, implement and embed a sound risk management system that is continually monitored, measured and updated to meet changing business requirements and FSA regulations. Act as an integral member of the senior management team. Job Role •Develop and maintain sound risk and compliance management strategies and throughout the business. Agree appropriate escalation procedures. •Provide risk and compliance consultancy services with particular reference to control weaknesses on high risk areas. •Contribute to the on going development of the business strategy and ensure that risk planning compliments the strategy. •Analyse key risks for all existing and proposed business activity and work with management to deliver adequate mitigating controls and actions. Regularly review and report effectiveness of controls. •Develop and deliver training for all employees to ensure that all have a good understanding of risk and compliance issues. •Assess, own and maintain a sound and effective Business Continuity plan for the business and work with IT provider to ensure effective Disaster Recovery solutions. •Create and operate a regulatory audit framework to assess and ensure controls are operating effectively •Act as the primary contact with the FSA. Skills and experience required: •Experience in a financial services. •Proven experience in a senior risk management role. •Strong knowledge of strategic and operational elements of a risk management framework in a financial institution. •In depth knowledge of regulatory, compliance and corporate governance. •Ability to drive regulatory compliant behaviour and actions throughout the business. •Ability to understand and contribute to business strategy and planning. •Ability to operate at Senior Management/Board level. •Operationally focused, hands on style. •Strong systems skills.Please view www.idexrecruitment.com for further Insurance opportunities.
