Firtash Invests $250 Million to double Titanium Production

Ukrainian billionaire Dmitry Firtash plans to invest almost $250 million into his ZAT Krymskyi Tytan to double production of titanium dioxide in three years.

The plant, based in the Crimean region of Ukraine, wants to increase production of titanium dioxide, which is used to make paint, plastic, glass and other product, to an annual 125,000 tons by year-end, Firtash’s holding company Group DF said in an e-mailed statement today.

Estonian house prices rise

A recovery in the value of residential properties in Estonia has been recorded by the country's statistical office.

Global Property Guide reported on the figures, which revealed that average house prices in the nation climbed by 10.6 per cent during the year ended in June 2011.

The increase comes after Estonia's housing market experienced significant fluctuations in property values, with meteoric rises between 2004 and 2006, followed by large falls until midway through 2010.

Tourism in Portugal 'may increase appeal of its property market'

Strong tourism figures could help encourage investors to buy real estate in Portugal, with one expert noting that residential tourism in the country is set to grow.
